Well, OK, it’s not exactly a “box” but that’s just an approximation. I have the original small speaker, which also cost about this much, maybe more (I think maybe $169 or something). It was amazing sound for such a small speaker. But that was then, this is now. The passive radiators they have on both ends of the speaker are quite amazing in terms of the bass response that you can actually hear! Unfortunately, with my hearing aids, the sound is a little too sharp (no problem w/o aids). And to think I used to love to listen to music, now I can’t because of high frequency distortion (if I take off my hearing aids, then I can’t understand anyone, so gotta keep them on). Well, anyway, this speaker puts out a lot of sound before it starts distorting, and lots of bass. Good balance. While I never tried it, the idea of connecting multiple speakers over Bluetooth is amazing! Even just two for stereo!There are other good speakers out there, this has a great product name, and JBL did a good job on the design for this one!The thing I like most is that pairing the speaker to my iPhone couldn’t have been easier. I liked the physical appearance, muted pink and material. The day it was delivered, I was on my way to the lake to go kayaking- right on time!! It was a blast hearing my favorite beats on the water for the first time! It’s the perfect size and sound for a small watercraft. I might want something more for that yacht I wanna get!!I love the sound and the carry caseLikes: color, size, and sound. I have only used this product three times at present.
